  Facts about all 50 States

This section of Gleason Online is devoted to highlighting those individuals who, in years past, have made truly significant contributions to the Gleason community. Those featured in this section may have been Gleason business men or women,  those who have distinguished themselves in public office, men or women in military service who have achieved recognition for going beyond the call of duty, professionals,  outstanding teachers, coaches, principals, ministers, or others who's  objective contributions have been such that the memories of what they have given to the Gleason community should continue to live on. While it is likely that the majority of those featured here will have passed on, the contributions of some individuals, still living, may be seen as appropriate for recognition, in cases where their contributions have been made in decades past.

Those wishing to nominate someone to be considered for inclusion in this section should send a detailed description of that individuals noteworthy contributions to the Gleason community, the time frame within which these contributions were made,  a clear statement of how these contributions have helped shape the history of Gleason and/or enhance the visibility of the community, along with a good quality picture of the person being nominated.

Nominations should be sent electronically as either Microsoft Word or WordPerfect files. It is desirable that pictures be sent as e-mail attachments in .jpg format, although, in cases where this is not possible, photos can be sent by mail for scanning. These photos will be returned to the sender.  Generally, the information provided should be between 500 and 1,000 words, although in some cases additional space may be allowed.

Regarding inclusion, it is anticipated that some individuals nominated will be considered so obviously appropriate that a decision to include will be clear. In those cases where the nature of the contributions and how they fit into the history of the community are less clear, nomination materials will be distributed to knowledgeable reviewers to recommend a final decision.

Nominations should be sent to www.GleasonOnline.com, using the following e-mail link. In those cases where photos must be sent for scanning, please send to the address listed below . All photos will be returned.
