Old Gleason School: 1929 - 1982

Planning is currently underway for the Gleason High School 2010 "School Reunion" which will be held Labor Day weekend on Friday, September 3rd, 2010 at the Inn at Paris Landing. For those wishing to arrange for lodging, we have booked a block of rooms at the Inn at Paris Landing. Room reservations can be made by calling the number provided below.

Plans are for the reunion to begin with Registration at 4:30 PM on Friday evening, followed by a brief program at 6:00, during which we will remember those classmates who are no longer with us. This will be followed by a buffet supper served from 6:30 - 8:30 (classes seated together). Then we can visit until midnight, giving everyone lots of time to catch up on things with old friends, with the Inn's sound system streaming 50's and 60's background music from the internet to provide a reminiscent atmosphere. We also hope to have some old teachers as our guests for the evening.

Leroy Segraves and Pat Dewberry (Class of '63) will be organizing a golf outing, not a formal tournament but just an opportunity for everyone who wants to play a round of golf to get together on Friday morning and enjoy each others company. Be sure and bring your cameras to the reunion to capture a visual record of this celebration that you can share with others. Remember - this year's School Reunion will be open to all former Gleason School students from all classes.

At this point, we have responses from 278 people who have now sent in their registration forms and fees. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to get back in touch with those classmates still remembered from years long ago. If you haven't registered yet, please do so quickly!!

Room Reservations: Reservations for the Inn at Paris Landing can be made by calling 1-800-250-8614 and letting them know that you are with the GHS Reunion 2010. Ask for Mitzi Hammonds, Hospitality Manager. The room rate is $83.00 per night for 2 double beds (A king-sized bed is $10.00 more). This is the basic room rate (not including tax).  Including tax, the total charge for a double bed room will be $94.83 per night.  If a Senior Discount is requested (which is 10%), the room will be $85.35 per night (including tax). We have 50 rooms reserved for our group until July 27th. Make your reservations before that time to ensure getting a room. Labor Day weekend will be a busy time, and rooms will likely fill up before summer. Make your reservations now! Again, be sure to ask for your Senior Citizen's Discount.

Reunion Registration: Registration for the 2010 School Reunion is $25.00 per person ($50.00 per couple). The $25 covers the cost of the venue, food, and miscellaneous expenses. Room reservations must be made separately for those planning to spend the night at the Inn at Paris Landing. Registration materials are being sent to members of classes from 1950 through 1970 for which we have been able to recruit a Class Contact person. Please send your completed Registration Form and fees to your Class Contact person no later than May 15, 2010 - earlier if possible!

Spread the word - All GHS students are invited. The listing of years 1950 - 1970 simply indicates the range of years for which we have been able to get volunteers to contact class members. Anyone who wants to be the contact person for former classmates in their class, just call Diana Bradberry, or the contact person listed for one of the classes listed on the Class Contact webpage (see link below).
